Greek Myths


Greek myths and legends have been told for thousands of years, and they have survived the ages because they offer much to the reader/viewer/listener ~ entertainment, insight into human nature, and lessons about morality and justice. Myths may appear simple, but they are somewhat like an onion. They have many layers of meaning.


  1. Choose one of the myths that you’ve just learned about and write your thoughts about what you believe the meaning is of that particular myth.

Practicing Thesis Statements

The local school committee is seeking ideas to improve your school. These ideas will be discussed during meetings with students, teachers, parents, administrators, and other interested parties. The changes proposed by students will be seriously considered since students are the reason for the school’s existence.

Choose one change that might improve your school for all students. Write a persuasive response explaining why your suggested change in an improvement. Give at least two reasons to show how your suggestion will improve your school.

Remember, you must argue in a convincing manner so that the school committee will understand and agree with your position.
