I consider Gary Paulsen as an outdoor person. He likes to hike and he loves adventure. And so many of his books are based in the wilderness. Most of his books are novels or non-fictional and also based on him. And he has a lot of information in his books to. So basically he meant to be focused on reading/writing like a wolf with prey.

When Gary Paulsen gave advice to the young readers to “read like a wolf”.
I rapidly thought he used the sentence as a simile and meant read a lot.
Also when I heard that simile I thought he meant read at your level and read at any free time you have. Also don’t read five books at a time just enjoy one book at a time. That is what I thought when I read that Gary Paulsen said “read

These are two examples of what “read like a wolf” means. One example I picked was to read aggressively because wolves are aggressive sometimes. I choose this because wolves are really wild and aggressive. My second choice is to read with speed. I chose that because wolves are fast and you could be a fast reader. Those are my two choices.

Gary Paulsen’s advice to young readers is “Read like a wolf.” For my assignment, I have to write about what I think “ Read like a wolf” means. I think that “ Read like a wolf” means read with patience. The reason that I say this is because a wolf needs to have patience to capture its food. The reader needs patience to read a book so they don’t skip to the end of a story without knowing what happened throughout the story. In conclusion, what do you think this means?

I think that it means when you “Read Like A Wolf” you have to know. You have to know what you are reading. Like you should never judge a book by it’s cover. But if you do then you should read the back because it might look boring on the outside but inside it could be very interesting. Then I think that you should get the book that’s just right for you. Say if you get a book that’s to easy or to hard your never going to finish he heard book and the easy book you will finish that book in like 2 second. Then you always should get the just right or (JR) book for you. Then a wolf is really fast so I think that when he said that I think it means to always read in a while even though you don’t like to.

I think that there are three different meanings for me about “Read like a wolf”! I think that “Read like a wolf” means to not stop reading because that is very important to you. The second thing that I think that “Read like a wolf” means that when you are read you are learning more. The last thing that I thinks it means is that when you read only think only think about your reading, because if you do you could feel what the writer is trying to say, you could picture it on your head. That is what I think that “Read like a wolf” means!

I think read like a wolf means read swiftly and carefully. It doesn’t mean skim through the book. It also doesn’t mean read the back and think you know all about the book. Plus the more you read the more knowledge you get. That is what I think reading like a wolf means.

I think the phrase read like a wolf means never take your eyes off the books unless you’re done with it or interrupted. Engage on what you are reading. The wolf never stop reading there preys every move in battle. I think that is what Gary Paulsen is trying to say.

I think what Gary Paulsen meant when he said to young readers to read like a wolf is to be fast. Not to give up and to keep trying just like a wolf, because when Gary Paulsen was out in Alaska for the dogsled race, He didn’t give up. Even dough it took him a while to get to the finish line him or the dogs gave up the kept going. He is also trying to imitate a wolf because a wolf is a successful animal and it never gives up, they are also very strong, and very intelligent. Gary Paulsen likes to read and he became a successful men in life by reading and writing books, so he probably want the kids to be successful in life too just like him. I think that is what Gary Paulsen meant when he said to young reader to read like a wolf.

I think it means to read good. It means don’t read slow.
Read as fast as a wolf runs.
Keep reading don’t stop reading.
When you read have your eyes open as a wolf.
Do not slow down just read.
This is what I think when he said when he was a little boy.

The way he tells you to " read like a fox" is ok.He is saying to read more than usual.I think this is what he is actually saying because foxes are like owls because they know to much. After all he is a author and authors tell kids to read more. They do this to encourage kids to get better at learning.

There are many ways you can express to read like a wolf. I only have three expressions that fit to read like a wolf. To read like a wolf is maybe to read all the time. Also it can mean to stay reading. It also can mean to read a lot. That’s what I think to read like a wolf.

I think the quote Read like a wolf means to read furiously. What that means to read very hard. Also it means you should always read. You should never stop reading. He wants young people who read his novels to be intelligent. He wants them to go on the adventures he went on. He also says the quote because he doesn’t want young people to never forget to read

I think, “read like a wolf “means you should read and you will get better at reading. If you keep on reading you will get better and you will be smarter. You will go places when you grow up. Sow keep on reading and life will be better for you. So that’s what I think “read like a wolf” mean.

R: what mr.pulsan meant to read like a wolf is like concentrating to hunt baby polo for wolfs. But for us it is like concentrating on a test that why he said read like a wolf. Also reading like a wolf can make you a better reader and leader because you are gaining your skills to lead a Pac of young readers and help them become better reader.

Gary Paulsen gives a lot of advice to young reader. One advice he gave was “read like a wolf”. I think that means three things. Number one (1) read all day and night because wolf stay up all night so we should read all night too .the second thing is keep reading and never stop. The last thing wolves work hard so we should work hard at reading and always tri like wolf do during the Iditarod.

Response to Paulson

I think that means to read patiently but read quickly. What I am trying to say is that how a wolf moves quickly but moves patiently. That is because it moves quickly. Also when it tries to catching its pray it take its time like I was going to say do not read to quickly because if you read to quickly then you will not know what the story is about. Also you have to be patient when it comes to reading because reading is important because if you did not know how to read and you where allergic to something the you wouldn’t understand what it is saying and you were allergic to peanuts then something bad could happen. Also when it comes to reading you have to know what you are reading.

When Mr. Paulsen says,” Read like a wolf“ he could mean multiple things. He could have use the word” wolf” because he was in the Iditarod. He could mean for the reader to read rapidly. (Fast) He could mean for the reader to feel adventure. He could mean for the reader to grasp the author’s purpose.
Any of these three things could describe what he said.

Gary Paulsen give a lot of advise to young readers. When he says read like a wolf, I think it means like to stay concentrated. Also I think to like read crazy (read a lot). Read all day and night for you can be smart and learn a lot of new things.DONT stop reading because reading is very important to you.

When Paulsen gave his advice to young readers as “ read like a wolf I think that he might have meant to care about reading and take advantage of reading. I thought that if a wolf is protective over its babies, food, and family then it would be caring and I should feel similar towards reading. The reason why I think that I should take advantage of reading is because a wolf is not a sharing animal with anything and anyone from that I think I should take advantage of reading.

You have been a 6th grader in Academy 2 for almost a full month. On a scale from 1 to 10, how would you rate your experience here so far? How do you think learning with laptops change the way you learn?
Well on a rate 1-10 my rate would be, through 1-10 my scale is 8 because sometimes I have a hard time getting my computer were it is supposed to be. But other than that I work very well with my computer I am a great type I can type fast enough to get my work done.
No I don’t think it changes the way I learn I think it makes it easier for me to learn with my computer because I don’t have to keep on getting paper to write on to learn my lesson. I can just go on the website and do my work. Depending on my class. So I think using a computer will make my year much easier.

I will be making a 5 paragraph essay on the a great story I read over thanksgiving break I will have to conclude details from the book to make the sentence true . I will use the summary in readers response journal.
Rikki tikki is about a mongoose that goes threw a ruff life when he is found in a family’s backyard choked up and wet. the family brings the creature into there home they wrapped him in a towel and sat him down somewhere safe so he can rest they gave him food but the animal refused to eat. He wasn’t used to the environment so he spent the night studying the house .
the next morning some how he got outside in the garden darzee and his wife were in the tree crying so rikki tikki tavi went over there and asked what was wrong. They replied and said nag ate there egg it had fell from our nest .they had a beautiful nest built. But any way he asked who was nag they said a cobra snake. Right away rikki tikki knew that his enemy was snakes he got training from his mom how to fight a snake. [COOL}
as he got a few information on the snake he was in self defense that night he went in the house and fell asleep on the boys shoulder but he slept for a few then he woke up and heard a weird sound he searched the house until he found the sound he said ohh it’s the scared creature who has never ran out in to the middle of the floor they talked and rikki tikki tavi…..
well talking to the scared creature he got a little information from that creature about how the house had access ways to get In the house he knew that nag was probably going to get inside from some of those ways so he to secure those areas so nag wont get in and hurt the family because rikki tikki tavi had killed one of nags snake friends named kortrait. From there he knew he had to keep his family safe……
so as you see I wrote my five paragraphs on the great story I chose now thank you for reading .
