1) We thought that the book was going to be about the flip-flop girl but the is main about other characters like mason, and Vinnie.

2) We have a text-to-text connection because I read a book before that was boring like this book.

Flip-Flop Girl is a great book. We predicted that Vinnie would show her true emotions about what is going on in her life so far. We also think that Vinnie is really angry or crazy for Mr. Clayton. We think, maybe Vinnie will move on. The connections we all made were one of our family members have died too. What will Vinnie do next? Will Mr. Clayton ever find out with Vinnie did to his sport car? Is Vinnie still in love with Mr. Clayton? Or does she hate him now?

Vinnie has been through a lot, so far. We can summarize most of it. We know that her father died and her family moved to their grandma’s house to Brownsville, Virginia. They’re going through a lot of pain. Vinnie later goes to school and meets her new teacher Mr. Clayton. She compares him to her father.

See you!

Malachi, Jamilah, Sominishia, and Tabrina.

Jamilah: I had a prediction that Vinnie was a girl that no one cares about.

Malachi: I had a prediction that a flip-flop girl always wears flip-flops and she would one day give them up for something.

Sominishia: I had a prediction that this book was about a girl that could never make up her mind.

Tabrina: My prediction was that it would be a horrible book with little girls being silly and playing around.

Connections whole group

The group has had a connection. Our connection is that we had all had someone in our family that has passed away. It doesn’t necessarily have to be cancer like Vinnie and Masons dad had. But it was very emotional for all of us and for the two characters in the book.

Jamilah: Why was Mason glad that his father died.

Malachi: Will they ever move back to Washington D.C and visit they’re dad again?

Sominishia: Why doesn’t Mason talk or eat.

Tabrina: Why doesn’t the mom ask Vinnie how she feels about her dad?

Summarize: It is about a family. And their dad had passed away by cancer. And the whole family was sad. They decided to move to Brownsville. And keep their feelings away. But someday it just hits them. Every day Mason is very quiet and anti social.
