The Road Not Taken

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth; 5

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same, 10

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back. 15

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. 20

Poetry sometimes relates to life experience.
In this poem by Robert Frost interpret

what the author's Theme is.

I think that the author meant that if you take one road it may be better than if you had taken the other. So if you take a road that everyone else took, it might have turned out better if you had taken the road less traveled by, because "it makes all the difference" stanza 4 line 20.

I think the authors theme is if you have two choices you choose one you have to stay with that choice you cant go back and take the choice that you didn't take. You have to stay with that choice. For example if someone offers me two jobs and I Pick the one that sounds good nut isn't good I cant go back and choose the other choice I have to stay with the first choice that I picked before.

What I think he means by “ The road not taken” is that with both roads it meant something different. One way was a good choice and the other way was a bad choice. He probably took the road that was a bad choice in the Future. This poem inspired me because during this poem in the last stanza [last stanza-4-5]
“I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. 20” What I think he means is by the road he went by didn’t last long so he regrets the road he took. He should have took the other road so his future can last longer

the theme of this poem is life it is life because what he is trying to say that there is a hard rode and an easy rode. I know this because in stanza 4 line 16,17,18,19,20.

This poem is great because it has two roads and one is the good road and the other is the bad road I think it has to do with taken the bad road first in the future probably in life to but I’m not going to take the bad road I’m going to take the good road. The roads are split into equal roads. In stanza 4 it says there are different ways of life take the good road.

I think what the author means that when you take the road less traveled it is more nicer but at the same time you need to know when you have to take the road more traveled and in the long run it will be all better because you know that you went thought perseverance and that you are a better person

The poem's theme is when sometimes people make mistake and take the wrong road for example if your in school and you just go and mess up your grades. You took the "road" because you can decide to stay in school and keep your grades up.

his poem theme is about life. It’s saying that if you make a decision, you can’t go back because if you do, more choices will come along. Stanza 4 Line 3-6 “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. 20”. The poem really means he made a mistake and took a bad route. He regrets it later in life. This line means that he had two choices and he took the shortest one because he scared of being challenged.

I think the theme is when you go in one direction you can't go back, you will always travel that road until you die. It is your destiny or it could be your fate, you could go in one direction and that can change your whole life, but you can also go in the other direction and it will lead to thorns and thistles, fears of animals, nightmares, dark tunnel or a dead end. For witch ever road you end up on your not coming back.

I think the theme is to take choices that you don't usually take like in stanza 4 it says he will take the road less traveled.

i think the authors theme is life lessons, because it's talking crossing roads and he's comparing it to to life and going down a road of life.

What the author was trying to say is that there are a lot of choices in life. Like in the line 19 it says “I took the less traveled by,” its like he made a better choice. So he made a smart choice. He thought before he did something.

I think that the author meant that if there were two roads and you chose one you can never go back to the other one you didn't chose. If you were in a forest and there were two roads you can only chose one because when you go in you can never go to the other road again.

1 The author’s theme is life. There were two roads that depended on your life. One was a long traveled one with hard work and the other road was the road less traveled with easy work with no presser. But he chosen the road less traveled some how he didn’t want to go a long road. I would of taken the long road because I need to do hard work and a long trip in order to have a good life.
2 The harder you work the better you live. Like for example if you work hard in school you will go into a good college. But if you don’t work hard in school you will be living on the streets or with your mom. You also won’t want to go to your high school reunions. Then you won’t have a good job ad you might be working at burger king.

I GOT A EXAMPLE LIKE WHEN you are going some where like there is two streets to get to the mall and there is one streets the left street better and the right street is wrong and I go down the wrong street and i cant turn back because there is traffic it is just like life when you have one choice and go with the another one and it is wrong you sometime cant go back. Because there is traffic because anther people want to go the same as you which is right.

I think that the theme is life because it talks about life. One reason why I said the theme is life is because I’m sorry I could not travel both ways and be one traveler. Robert frost really is trying to say he made a mistake.

It is about choices like you can decide the path that your going to because some people go for the easy path but it provides more problems but the other choice is harder but its the best best. Like going to school you can go to school but it will be hard but you will get a education and you can go the wrong path and thats not going to school and you will have no education and nothing and you might be getting into trouble and go to jail instead of getting a job, having a education and not being in a jail cell so you should choice the path that you know that is right for you and not the wrong path.

I don’t know how to explain it but I think the theme is about love. I think that the theme is about how he maybe took the wrong road, maybe he wanted to make the right decision in life.Because in the first stanza he says “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth”
And by that I think he meant that he could of taken the other road but he could only take one because he was only one person. “He should have picked the cleanest road he thought was the best.”

I think the theme of this poem is life. The reason why I think this poem is about life is because in stanza 4 lines 18,19,and 20 I think it means that when he took the shortest road he couldn't go back to where he started. Also you could get lost in real life and he got lost in the woods.
