The crossing
In this essay I am going to explain many actions for the attempt to cross the bridge. I going to talk about why he attempted to cross the bridge. Secondly what consequence happened after him crossing the bridge even more. These are the things I am going to talk about from the book the crossing by Gary Paulsen. Lets get started and hope you enjoy slash like.
The crossing. In this book many wanted to cross a bridge. He really wanted to cross the bridge because he was poor and wanted to see the outside world. He didn’t have a family he was an orphan and lived on the streets all by himself. Even though he wanted to cross the bridge it wasn’t so easy. There were many things that stood in his way. One he one only a child and it wouldn’t be very easy for him. Many wondered how would I get across the bridge.
How would many cross the bridge thinking and thinking desperate to find an answer. What would he do he really wants to cross that bridge. Many knew It would be really hard but what was he going to do. One day many finally came up with an idea. Many had an idea he was going to swim across the bridge at night. It was a risk but he wanted to do it. he got food from a lady to get food before he left then he left for his attempt to cross the bridge. Did he make it nobody know that is the crossing by Gary Paulsen.
This as the book the crossing. That was the attempt that many made to cross the river. What he did and the challenges that crossed well faced him. That’s was many decision and what he did to make what he wanted possible. I hope you enjoyed thank you.

In a 4 paragraph essay im going to write about A book we read called THE Crossing by Gary Paulsen .The main character from the story was named Manny.Manny as a child hd a really hard time growing up becaue he didn’t had a family he could go to.One day Manny was talking to a lady named Maria that would sometimes give him food because Manny was poor and he had nothing to live by.She would give him some food when she sees him standing there for a long time.Oneday they we both talking and Manny told her that he wanted to crass the border .

When Manny said he wanted to cross I was thinking to myself what’s wrong with him he could had get in trouble if they seen him. But at the same time I understand him because he lives by himself in Mexico he has no family to go to and he is poor.At the same time I was reading that he wanted to cross I wanted to put myself in his position.I was thinking about if that was me would I done the same thing? Would I cross? A lot of questions were going though my mind.I was thinking to myself I wouldn’t cross because I would get in trouble but maybe in his position he had to do it,I wouldt like people taken my money from my and hurting me verytime.

Manny wanted to get better things cloths, money and all the things that u can imagine you would want if u were poor.Like Manny many kids fear .Manny had to move very day because if they catach him they would want to sell him for money. The day he was croosing Maria told him he would go see her before he lives so that he could have food to eat. After he got the food he was ready to go cross. While he was there he found a sergent the was very different from the others. He wanted to help Manny to cross the border.Int he end of the story he tells Manny to go get his green card and go In the dark a cross the river to the other side.

I really hoped Manny crossd the border because I knew that was not a very smart thing to do but I would cross the border than having people taken my money and hurting me.But I really hope he got somewhere to stay and I would want him to go to an adoption center where he can find a family that would help him do better and also I would like him to go to school so that it would do better in his life. This is what I wrote about Manny adventure and some of my things.

The Crossing

The crossing is about a little boy named Manny. He is fourteen years old. And he lives in the streets along the border of Juarez, Mexico. He wants to come to the United States for freedom. People in the U.S.A are always throwing stuff at him. He has to feel jealous because he doesn’t have the stuff that he wants or needs.

Then one night he crosses the Rio Grande River. And a stranger goes near him. But Manny doesn’t know if this guy is an ally or an enemy. But he risks it anyways. If I was in a situation like this I would be kind of scared. Because you don’t know this guy at all, you never had seen him in your life. And you don’t know what he is capable of. I would at least try to run away. But if he calls me and tells me he is here to help then I would MAYBE trust him.

If he had a cell phone I would make a prank on soldiers of the border. I would tell them “that someone is coming for you go to Mexico now and travel”… And as soon as they leave I go to the U.S.A and have my freedom. But if they catch me I will do my night shift. Go under the water and swim to the other side.

Once I get to U.S.A I would run as fast as I could but quietly. And go straight to New Mexico. I would ask people for directions to the airport and get some food. And right when I get to the airport I would grub. And steal people’s money to get a plane ticket to Hawaii.

That is what The Crossing is about and what my reaction is. The book was very interesting and it has happened to many people in the world. Not just the Mexico, USA border. But every border around the world

My reaction to the character Manny and his adventures to cross is he should never try to attempt to cross because to me that was a scary thing he did. I would never try to cross. Manny is a non-quieting kid and that takes a lot of heart. But all I know is I would of give up by the time I couldn’t cross. I have a lot of heart, but I can never do what he did. Maybe I can. I have to try to cross.

Even if he didn’t make it across. He would keep on trying to make it across. He’d never give up. That takes a lot of courage. I have courage but I could never something that hard. Manny is a good but full with hard work

When I started reading The Crossing by Gary Paulsen I felt that this book would be interesting and have adventure. I think I had multiple reactions to this book. From the top of my head I can say I had about 3 reactions. One was being scared for Manny because he was young to be on his own. Second reaction was happy that he was able to get money from people that were complete strangers. I was happy because it felt like none was caring for him. Last reaction was worried. I was worried because a man almost shot him. I think that is very important because Manny keeps risking his life and he is only 14 years old!

One reaction was being scared! I was scared because he was to young to be on his own. I think that he shouldn’t want to go cross the border. I think that he is risking it with the border patrol. I think 1 piece of advice I can give him if he had a cell phone I can say would be call the patrol and tell them something that’s important.

Another reaction is happy. I was happy because he got money from people he didn’t know. I think that was great because he can feed himself and not be dehydrated. He should take that no matter what because where he lives. That’s not a great place to live for a young person. Plus he can get hurt from people that are dangerous and drunk.

Last reaction is worried. I am worried because Manny almost go shot. I think that he needs to cross that border as fast as he can. Before he actually gets hurt. When he gets hurt no one would know who he is and not know how he can pay for hospital bills because he is a very young teenager or child. But I think he would be better off going to the U.S because its dangerous in Juarez, Mexico.

Hey! I going to be telling you about a book called the crossing. The book the crossing has a character named Manny. Now I’m going to tell you about how I reacted to his adventures. So read on and find out on how I reacted to many adventures.

The first reaction I got was when he was on the bus. And he told was it was really dark and when the patrol can and looked inside the bus. My reaction was I was scared and I want to run and hide. This made me feel like this because it feels like you did a bad thing and then you are almost getting seen. Also my other reaction was like I want to run away from them and find a safe place. That how I reacted because, if you were living on the streets with no money and alone you would want a safe place to live. And at that time they were selling boys his age so he hind.

My second reaction is when in the book he was trying to take a drunk guys wallet. Then when Manny try to grab the wallet and he got in trouble. That made feel like my heart skipped a beep. I say this because, when he grabbed the wallet and the man grabbed Manny’s arm. It was so fast it was like a cheetah trying to get her pray. Then he just stared at Manny and started to drag him. If that were I would feel like I’m being kidnap. That is my reaction on this part.

My last reaction I got was when he was waiting for people to through money down off the bridge and the kids would try to grab it before anyone one else. When the big huge kid came took Manny’s money and started to kick him in his stomach. I would feel like I have to defend myself. I say this because, the boy is kicking me and to show that he had to stop by fighting back. I say this because, it you need money badly they are going to stop when you ask them. They are going to talk it over. Also if you call for a grown up they wouldn’t even get help or help by their self. They would let it go on and on. That reaction to this part.

Inculcation this book is a very great book. It you feel like you are that person. It also makes it feel like you are right there. Like you could see, smell, taste, hear, and tough. Well this is my paragraph essay on my reaction to Manny’s adventures.

In the book the crossing by Gary Paulsen there is a character named Manny. Manny is an orphan. He has a few adventures trying to cross the Rio Grande to get to America for a better life. Tourists come and throw money down the bridge for the kids to fight over (for their own amusement). Read on to find out more.

Many Bustos the orphan dares to cross Rio Grande one night for a better life than to be an orphan. He wants to be able to eat and buy some new clothes. He has had enough of being an orphan. That same night some bad guys chased him. He ran until he came to the club Congo tiki. He met sergeant Robert. Manny tried to steal his wallet and the soldier stopped him. Anyway they became friends.

The next time he met the sergeant the sergeant had breakfast with him. Then Manny told him a lie that he knew his father. That night sergeant Robert went back to Congo tiki. He told Manny he would help him get across the Rio Grande. Manny only hoped that the soldier did.

The 3rd time Manny saw the sergeant they were headed for Rio Grande. Manny son found out that he was soon going to be in America. Then the cops showed up asking questions. Then a fight broke out sergeant Robert was beating the cops. He gave Manny his wallet and Manny ran down the bridge to America.

I think Manny’s personality is adventurous because he has will power to go on. I think Manny had guts to cross but he was weak. The one I feel sorry for is sergeant Robert he helped Manny but probably is very wounded now. I wonder how Manny is doing now? I really enjoyed reading this book.

The book the crossing was very exciting, because Gary Paulsen it was about a boy who would go to extreme lengths just to cross over to the US. The bridge has a ton of guards and police. The boys name is Manny, and Manny is wiling to try anything to get to the other side of that bridge. Someone who is so determined is bound to come across some faults and troubles along the way.
Manny is a poor orphan living in a cardboard box. He doesn’t have any money and he is always hungry. I really feel for Manny, because he had to undergo some really hard things I would be dead by the time I got through half of the things he’s been through. Manny tried to pull a lot of slick things to get across that border.
Manny seems to be the kind of person that is very humble and wouldn’t brag if he had anything to brag about. Manny had a very hard time getting across the bridge. He really had to takes a lot of risks that could kill him. Manny is wiling to risk his life just to cross the border.
Manny was also very brave, because when he met that strange man that could have been a killer, or a kidnapper… Manny kept his cool. I guess he kind of had to be brave since he doesn’t have any parents, so anything could happen to him whenever. Manny is also brave, because he crossed a bridge that is full of police and guards.
I really feel good and bad for Manny, because he was poor, and an orphan… but he really showed his test of strength when it came time to cross that bridge.

The crossing by Gary Paulsen was a book about a teenage boy waning to cross the border for a new life. To me it’s an outstanding book to read. Also I am going to write about my reaction to manny manny wanted to go to the U.S and live a new life. Also how tough was his first crossing.

Manny first trip was to find food. Because he needed food to survive. I infer that Manny was real brave to do that kind of thing. Also he was very brave to go on an adventure like that.

My reaction for him trying to cross the border in Juarez Mexico to have a new and better life was cool. Because he was trying to get himself from the ground. Also he wanted to be recognednized. For himself and I liked that.

Lastly I wrote about Manny making his own decisions along himself. And that’s what took him to cross. Also about his braveness. He was strong and stood up for himself in times. Now you know about my essay…

The Crossing

Well my reaction to the character Manny
and his adventure attempting to cross was
pretty amazing. Cause I wouldn’t do that
cause I would be filled with fear of dying
and of how cold the water is cause the
water may be super cold. But he was trying to cross cause he wanted a better life, but if
he got caught oh he would of got it real hard
and probably would of died.
Manny is an orphan scrabbling for survival on the streets of Juarez, Mexico. He sleeps in a cardboard box and fights for the coins
American tourists throw off the bridge between EL Paso, Texas and his town. On
the night when Manny dares the crossing through the muddy shallows of Rio Grande,
past the searchlight and border patrol in hope of a new better life.
If Manny had a cell could call one the soldiers and tell him that someone had trying to escape down to South America
Then when he does down there he can run
To California but Manny may not know
Where California start on the border line
So it will be a few days til he gets there. But if he see the patrol car he needs to hide in the grass or else get caught and go t jail or
Get taken back to him home town where
He maybe will die if his people found out
He tried to escape and the will kill him or keep a better eye on him.

THE END!!!
THANK YOU FOR READING MY REFLECTION!!! BYE

The crossing by Gary Paulsen
Some of his adventures were when he sat in the dark next to the river on the side of broker corner next to an old building. The scary part of that adventure was when there was a creature next to him but the creature was safe. He said it was hard to stay safe in Ju’arez at night but the river shines in the dark leaving not many but little light. While he was there he saw hundreds of night people that would cross the border at night. Many of them brought little bags.
They turned into groups and congregate some of them bring food and wait in the rocks of the Mexican side. That was an adventure because you are by your self with a bunch of strangers you’ve never seen in your life and they brought food and you don’t even know when it expirees. There were also swearing and cussing. That is a big adventure because he wants to come to America for freedom. It’s scary but exiting. When he went to cross the Grande River there was a stranger asking him a question.
Many were a strong 14-year-old boy and brave. Evan when the Americans were throwing things at him. They didn’t respect him. The other adventure he took was when they took his money and beat him. I wouldn’t want to cross after that I would have ran away and started to cry. This is my reflection

My reaction to Manny’s adventures is slightly scary. It wasn’t only scary but it was also sad to watch him in my head doing things like starving because he can’t find food and getting cuts on him trying to fight for his protection. It was also kind of risky for him to make a really big decision.

I think it was sad because many people have houses but he is one of the less fortune kids so he doesn’t have a house he has a cardboard box that he sleeps in. I think that it is also said that some less fortune people might think that they shouldn’t have live. Manny doesn’t think like that though he tries to do something to help his life.

I also thought it was slightly scary. A reason why it was slightly scary is because many goes threw lots of obstacles and adventures just to eat. He also does it to give him some time to think about his decision. His decision is to choose between crossing the bridge and staying home.

It was risky because if he does go he could get into some trouble and be killed. If he doesn’t go then he’ll live his whole life the way it is now.

Over school winter brake I read a book called The Crossing. The title to me sounded so interesting. I wanted to read so bad so when I got home I started to read it. Now I’m going to write how I felt about a boy named Manny crossing a river at the age of 14 alone. I felt scared. Then I felt alone. My last feeling was sad. Then while I’m writing it I will explain why.
While I was reading I felt scared while I was reading. I was scared because I was thinking about if that was me and if I was alone I’ll be so scared. Also because when he was going alone he was only 14 to be crossing a river alone with no adult. Another reason is because I barely go place alone. The only time I go alone is when it is important and no one can take me.
I felt alone while I was reading because he was alone and he have been alone for a long time so I was feeling sympathy for him. That night of reading I had a nightmare of it being me crossing the river so it made me feel lonely. I understand he was bored and an orphan but he was crazy to cross the river alone. He could have injured or kill himself.
At the same time of felling scared and alone I felt sad. I was feeling sad because I was scared that he was going to kill himself. It got me sad to think about it. Also when he was crossing someone or something could have attacked him while he was crossing and I was getting worried.

I think Manny is very brave. I think he is brave because he could sleep out side. Manny is a Mexican boy that lives on the streets near a breage. Manny is poor and he only wants to cross the bridge so he could be safe. Manny once tried to steel a sick soldiers wallet but got caught.
The man Manny tried to steel from was a sergeant and he this sergeant was very different. He thought every beggar lied. This sergeant didn’t tell on Manny. This sergeant drank to keep the edges curved. Manny and this sergeant kept meeting. Every time Manny and this sergeant meet the sergeant got kinder.
The first meeting the sergeant could have told the policeman Manny tried to steel his wallet but didn’t. The third meeting the sergeant invited Manny to a bullfight. Before they saw the fight the sergeant went to go and get some whiskey and Manny could have taken his money but didn’t. The last meeting the sergeant invited Manny to eat breakfast. Then Manny ordered at least every thing on the menu. Then Manny started to tell the sergeant the truth.
Manny told the sergeant that he is an orphan. He lives on the streets. He also told him that he doesn’t get beet by his father he gets beet by the big boys on the street. He told him he lives on the streets by him self. With means the big boys took his money.
Then Manny asked the sergeant to help him. Then the sergeant relived Manny was telling the truth. So the sergeant helped him. He beat up the big boys. Then he avoids his sergeant dodoes. Then he took Manny across the border and they lived happily ever after.

In the book the crossing Manny had so many struggles. He was an orphan wondering the streets of juavez, México. I am going to tell you my reaction of many attempting to cross.

At the beginning Manny was living in a box in juavez México. He kept moving here and there. One day Manny woke with the sun beaming at him. He started to think about the life and jobs he would have if he crossed that river to United States. After that day he kept thinking and thinking about the same thing.

One of my emotions was scared. I would be scared to see some one catch me trying to cross, and if they do they would probably call the cops. I would be better off free then in jail for something risky. I would also feel scared because I would probably starve to death. It would take a long time for me to find the city. That’s why I would be scared.

My second emotion is confident. I would feel confident in my self. In my head I would say
“ you can do it”. I would also feel confident in myself knowing that I can do it. Even though I would have to stop a couple of times for rest I would never give up. I would just keep going and trying.

I think the crossing was a good book. I think Manny was a good kid and probably his box living days were over. Manny wouldn’t had to waunder the streets of mexico.

The crossing is a great book to read because it was writing by Gary Paulsen and it has a great character Manny he is a orphan and he lives by him self he is a good boy and he likes to cross and he goes to house for help and nobody helps him.

Manny is a type of boy that likes to go places and he likes to look for new things. Manny is alone with no body and he takes good care of his self and I think he is such a good boy and I think he will do what ever u want him to do and I think that Manny is so help full and he goes out side and ask for cones and they don’t give it to him and I think that is Riley selfish because he be out there asking for many and they don’t give it to him and I think he is a Riley good boy and he is so helpful. Many lives in Mexico and he sleeps in a cardboard and the cones that the they throw off the bridge between El Paso and Texas and his town and he crosses the bridge.

I am going to talk about this book called the crossing. I am also going to talk about why all those people wanted to cross the bridge. Also what his great idea was. But also I can see his reasoning.

In this book a lot of people wanted to cross this bridge, including Manny the little boy he was very tempted to cross. Manny wanted to cross that bridge into the other side because he was so poor and he had nobody, no family, no food, no money, he was just a poor orphan with absolutely nothing.

Then he came with a brilliant idea I thought. Manny decided that at night when no one is out that he would swim across the bridge at night. Then this sweet nice women gave him some food just before he got ready to do his idea to help him and the people on the other side. Manny got ready that night and finally started crossing. I don’t know nobody ever knew if he made it our not. Did Manny Bustos get a cross the bridge nobody knows. By: Gary Paulsen

That part made me sad. Gary Paulsen made this book called the crossing. But why Gary Paulsen wrote this book? and what was this about?

I am going to make a 4 paragraph about the book THE CROSSING because there was a kid named Manny and Manny lived a hard life because he had no money he only had little breakfast , lunch or dinner and he had a old mother that could had done nothing and he wanted to leave and also Maria would give Manny food because she knew he was poor and he needed money if he wanted to live in the place he living now which is Mexico and he was thinking and thought to run away from the place he is living in now and Manny told Maria that he was crossing the border.

Manny wanted to cross because he had no family he was poor and he had no place to live in but a cardboard box but the thing he did have in Mexico was his friend Maria and Maria was the one that gave him the food to eat and he had left her back there. I thought he was not going to cross the border and he was confused he did not know what to do he had thoughts in his head and he did not know he would not cross he did cross he did not know what to do.

He thought that he could not cross the boarder because there was police and he has going to get away and they were going catch him and he was in deep trouble because he picked to cross the boarder and Manny was living a horrible life he lived in a cardboard and he had no family so he tried to live some were different so he would be able to live the life he wants to.

Life growing up as an orphan was hard for Manny Bustos because it was hard to survive ,it was hard to find food to eat ,and it was hard to find a place to sleep. Manny Bustos also had to sleep in alleys with drunks and garbage. And people like tourist that filled the streets in the after noon were disrespectful to him and swore at him. In the usual flow of Manny Bustos life things had to work very fast for Manny Bustos or not at all and because he had to live fast he did not know things like they were suppose to be learned . But every morning when he woke up and the suns rays shines from the rips of the cardboard box to wake him up he went to the market . But at the end Manny Bustos crosses the Rio Grande risking it all.

In this book Manny (character) wanted to cross a bridge in Mexico. He did this because he was poor and he wanted to move somewhere that would give him courage to try something new. Manny did not have any one to care for him he was an orphan living in a cardboard box on the streets by himself. It wasn’t easy for Manny to cross the bridge by himself. He had a struggle crossing the bridge because many things stood in his way. Many were worried for Manny they all wondered how he was going to make it or even if he was.
My reaction when I was reading this book was surprised because I bet it was hard for Manny to survive with no adult help for his needs through the way. I was also surprised because I thought that Manny was going to die but instead he stuck it out and made the good out of it. I believe this story was an inspiration to all young readers because I think what Gary Paulsen was trying to say was that no matter what you are going through never give up.

Many had a hard time growing up because he lived by his self and he trying so hard that he is taking a risk trying to leave the bad but into the good world.
And he really wanted to cross the bridge also because he was real poor he had no food he went to bed hungry and woke up early.
or clothes for him to wear and he just wanted to see the outside world he try his best by not letting his self down.
He didn’t have a family so he decided that he really wants to cross that bridge real badly and he is a orphan he lived in the streets by his self that is very hard for someone to live in the streets by him self.
Many had lots of things in his way but he stood up to so the he can cross that bridge to a better life for him.
and many try and one day he speak to himself and he said how am I going to cross this bridge then he found a idea to cross the bridge.

Many was a young boy he was only 14 years old and haves brown eyes red hair and when he was a little baby his mother lift him in a box and the sister try to feed him but then there will be no more food her.
So a guy that many was with didn’t want him so many moved out from danger because he wanted to be in a better place for him.
and the guy sold him to the others that wanted a fourteen years old boy.
So then he was warmed and his cardboard up when the sun came out and he felt a lit much better he felt like he had something in side of his head.
he said soon I would come up with an idea for me to cross that bridge.

Then one day many had a dream and his was dream is that he would cross the bridge one day and that day happened and he said I know what to do now so he says I would swim over the bridge.
Then many had really cross the bridge so he sees people trying to get fresh and goat cheese and people drinking coffee.
Also a shelter.

The crossing

The book crossing was good it remember me of my mom. When I was in Jamaica my mom goes to Cayman, Boston, and florid when I grow up a want to be a travel like my mom. My favorites chanter is chanter one because is said that many Bustos awakened when the sun cook the cardboard over his head and heated the box he was sleeping in until even lizard could not have taken it, and he knew, suddenly, that it was time.
Manny is an ever poor orphan living in a cardboard box he doesn’t have any money and him always hungry. Manny is so brave, because when he met that strange man that could have been a killer, or a kidnapper. Manny was a strong 14yearold boy.
In this book it’s said that Manny hated the bridge, hated going to the bridge, hated it because as Maria had said, he was smaller than Manny of the other boys and would inevitably come away with some mark and lumps. But early in the day it was the only way to get money.
Later, in the dark, he could make the limp with his left leg and twist his right wrist o makes it look crippled. The soldiers would be getting drunk enough to feel sorry for him, and he could perhaps get a little money begging. But this night he would leave. He needed some money now, and during the day the tourists were sober and would not feel sorry for him-and so the bridge.
There were nearly half a dozen boys there when he arrived, even this early in the day, screaming at the few people crossing the bridge overhead. Come on throw money my mother is starving throw money throw money

Manny Bustos is poor because he has no where to live, no money, and he always works under the Santa Fe Bridge asking the tourists to throw him money. Manny lives in a box in the streets of Juarez, Mexico. He has no money so Manny will often find himself begging Maria to lend him some food, which is an impossible thing to do. He sometimes goes to the Santa Fe Bridge to beg for money from the tourists, but truth be told they only through the money for there own amusement because the older children will often start fights over the money. As you can see Manny Bustos does not have a good life.
Manny wants to cross Rio; he has had enough of being and orphan. He is always hungry and Maria was kind enough to give him food little did he know he wouldn’t be crossing that night. Many got a dollar from a tourist that night and Pacho and his boys wouldn’t let him get away with it, they beat him up. Manny meet Sergeant Locke and tried to steal his wallet from his back pocket but failed. Sergeant Locke stopped him but said nothing.
The second time he met Sergeant Locke was at Rio Brava Hotel. Manny followed him inside and thought the Sergeant was generous because he didn’t turn him into the police, that other night at their first meeting. Manny didn’t think about thanking the Sergeant, but Manny knew he was drunk, instead he thought that he should beg him for money or food. Locke told Manny he could get what ever he wanted and Manny got a lot of things to eat. Later on they went to see a bull fight and Locke began to get a little crazy, for sure Manny thought that would be there last meeting.
On there third meeting, was about a week from there second meeting, Manny asked if Sergeant Locke could take him to Rio Grande past the boarder patrol. Sergeant said yes which was a shock to Manny. That night Manny was with sergeant, four men wanted to beat up Manny but Sergeant Locke wouldn’t let that happen. He gave Manny his wallet and told him to cross the boarder. Locke lost his life but saved Manny’s.
I think Manny’s adventures are very dangerous. He could have lost his life many times in this book but he survived. When he tried to steal Sergeant Locke’s wallet he made a big mistake because Locke could have hurt or even killed Manny if he wasn’t so generous. Manny is really brave to want to cross the broader because he could get caught. He had a lot of help and he probably succeeded.

The crossing
In the essay I am going to tell you many reasons he attempted to cross the bridge. Secondly what consequence happened after he crossed the bridge. Those are the things we are going to be talking about. Lets get started and I hope you enjoy it. This book is by Gary Paulsen.

There is a boy named Manny and he lives in jurez México and he had so many struggles. He lived in a box and that was one of his struggles. Another struggle he had was he had no family so he was all alone. The last way he struggled is he was always hungry. My last one was he kept on moving place to place. That was another struggle he faced in life.

The reason Manny crossed the bridge is because he know ‘s that if he moved to America it would be a better life for him because he would be hungry. He also had $5 American dollars that a man gave him so he could buy something to eat there. He also moved there because he could get some thing to eat by growing crops. He also can have some wear to live. That is why he crossed the bridge.

How I feel about Manny going place to place all the time I feel kind of scared because it is dangerous out there and every one is not nice in the world. I am very scared for him. He was scared when he was in America because people were treating him mean so he was scared. Then when he mad a friend his friend gave him food a place to live and at the end of the book he lived
a good life.
That is what the book was about. Manny was a good kid. Every one knows he is a good kid. At the end he loved his life. That is what the book is about.

I read a book called the crossing by Gary Paulsen. The main charter of this book is Manny. Manny is an orphan. Manny had many difficulties when he was growing up and when he was young because he didn’t have a family to live with or go to. Manny was fourteen and he lived in Juarez, Mexico but then he moved to the USA for freedom but many people hated him so they threw things at him. Manny is very brave.
My reaction towards Manny was amazing because he was so brave he wanted to cross a river. I thought he was brave because he wanted to cross the river. I thought it was amazing because I wouldn’t to 0that and I couldn’t do that so how could you do that. Many is even braver because what if it was a worser life then his life is already. But many is brave and amazing for wanting to cross a river. Manny was also smart for wanting to cross that river for a better life because he knew that the life he had wasn’t going to do nothing and wasn’t going to take him anywhere.
Inculcation I have wrote about my reactions towards Manny and what I who is Manny. I have also wrote about the charter traits I have for Manny like brave, amazing and, smart, the book the crossing was very awesome. I really enjoyed reading it. Manny is one brave, amazing, and smart young boy!

My reaction toward Manny's adventures was that i was suprised on how Manny survived all of this because he gets almost sold by four men, he almost gets caught with sergeant Robert by the Mexican officer, and the four men find him again and tries to sell him to a man for money. The crossing is about a 13- year old boy named Manny Bustos who was abandoned by both of his parents forced to live on the streets of Juarez,Mexico. He scurries under the Santa Fe bridge waiting for the tourists of America throw money. He has to be quick or the older boys would beat or kill him for his money. Until he met a man named sergeant Robert Locke.
Manny has been threw a lot during his 13 years of life, because he has been brutaly beaten by men or older boys. Men would try to sell Manny for money. There was a part of the book when Manny was almost sold to a man looking for a boy with red hair. Manny was attempting to cross the the border when 0ne of the four men grabbed him by his hair. He escaped that time and met sergeant Robert outside of Conga Tiki throwing up.
Manny has been begging all his life so instead of Manny begging to sergeant Robert he thought he should just take his wallet while he was throwing up. But Robert grabbed Manny's arm and dragged him to the bridge. This is when they got stopped by the Mexican officer them. Sergeant made up an excuse, and the officer let Manny go.But that wasn't the last time they met.
In the last chapter of the book Manny and sergeant Robert were in the alley and the same four men who tried to sell Manny were there as well. Robert was going to help Manny cross the bridge to live a better life in America, but the men wanted to sell Manny. Sergeant wouldn't let them, so they fought. The men had knifes the cut sergeant but he wouldn't back down till all of them were on the floor. The men cut him all over, he gave Manny his wallet, then died.
I didn't think that Manny would have survived. I thought he would have had gotten sold by the four men. Or even died of starvation. Or even arrested by the police. I was astonish on how Manny survived all of the 13 years in Mexico.

Manny is homeless he sleeps in a cardboard box in Mexico Manny also fights for coins off the bridge of Texas Manny also wished that he had a better a life instead of him living in a cardboard box. One time Manny had went across the muddy shallows of the Rio Grande Manny has no sister no mother no brother or dad. I had 3 reactions 1reeactiion was that I felt real bad for him because he was to young to be on his own. My 2 reaction was that I felt bad for him because he had to feed himself. My 3 reaction was That I was happy for him because he got a lot of money from strangers
